Description

Lockton’s Farmhouse, now a house, dates from the early 18th century. The construction incorporates deep brick plinths and grey brick with red brick dressings, topped with an old, plain-tile gambrel roof and brick end stacks. The farmhouse is two storeys high with a basement and has a three-window front. A 2-light casement window is located on the basement to the right. The central entrance features a 6-panel part-glazed door with a segmental brick head, accessed by a flight of 20th-century rebuilt steps. Sixteen-pane sash windows are present in all openings, set within wood architrave surrounds. A flat brick band runs between the ground and first floors, and a brick dentil course is visible along the eaves. The interior has not been inspected.
