Description

Benacre Cottage is a 17th-century cottage located on the south side of Hook Norton Rope Way. The building is constructed of coursed ironstone rubble, painted white, with a thatched roof and two brick end stacks. It has a two-unit plan with a later extension on the right. The cottage is single storey with an attic. It features 20th-century casement windows with wooden lintels, and a 20th-century porch. The main structure has remained unaltered. A single 3-light metal casement window is located on the first floor at the rear. The interior of the 17th-century section includes a chamfered beam and a bressumer over the fireplace.
