Description
Gingerbread Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with a likely late 17th century single-storey wing at the rear. It is constructed of coursed ironstone rubble and features a thatched roof. The building has three brick stacks on stone bases located at the ends and to the left of the center. It is designed as a single storey plus attic with a three-unit plan.
On the ground floor, there are three two-light wooden casements with lead cames and wooden lintels. The attic contains four two-light casements, mostly with lead cames. The entrance is positioned to the right of a two-storey circular stair turret projection, which also has a small casement. There is a blocked doorway to the left of the stair turret. The right elevation and the left end of the cottage feature buttresses. At the rear, there are two stone mullioned windows, one of which has hood moulds and label stops. The interior has not been inspected.
