Description

Stuart House is a 17th-century house with 20th-century additions, located in Hook Norton Down End. A datestone indicating 1682 sits above the front door. The construction is of coursed, regular ironstone rubble, with a Welsh slate roof, and includes two rendered brick ridge stacks. The building follows a three-unit plan, with a single-storey extension projecting towards the road. The house is two storeys high. The front facade features a line of two-light, and one four-light stone mullioned windows on the ground floor, each with a hood mould and label stops. The doorway has a chamfered stone lintel and a hood mould with label stops. 20th-century alterations include an integral garage on the ground floor to the right. The interior has not been inspected.
