Description

A terrace of three cottages, known as Gosling Cottage, Hathaway Cottage, and No. 4, was likely built around the late 18th century, with later 20th-century additions to the rear. The cottages are constructed from coursed limestone rubble with dressed stone quoins. They feature thatched roofs with gabled ends, along with brick gable-end and axial stacks.

The layout includes three small cottages, each with a heated front room and an unheated service room at the back. Hathaway Cottage, on the right, has a side entrance leading into the rear room. No. 4 and Gosling Cottage, in the centre, have direct entry through front doorways, with plank doors; the right-hand door features a 20th-century wooden porch. The west-facing front has three windows, with 2-light casements with glazing bars in Hathaway Cottage, and 2-light casements of 20th-century origin in No. 4 and Gosling Cottage. At the rear, small 20th-century single-storey extensions with flat roofs have been added to the right.

Inside Gosling Cottage and Hathaway Cottage, exposed joists are visible, and a tie beam is exposed in Gosling Cottage.
