Description
The Old Malt House Cottage is a 17th-century house located on the north side of Down End in Hook Norton. The structure is built of coursed ironstone rubble with ironstone quoins on the left-hand side, and is roofed with thatch, featuring two brick end stacks. The house is single-storey with an attic. It follows a 2-unit plan. An off-centre doorway is sheltered by a rustic thatched porch. The panelled door has two glass lights at the top, set within a wooden door frame. Two windows are positioned on the ground floor, flanking the door: a sash window with margin lights to the left, and a 3-light casement with a chamfered lintel to the right. Two 2-light casements are found in the attic. The interior has not been inspected.
