Description
Jasmine Cottage is a house dated 1676, as indicated by a beam in the room to the right of the entrance. It is constructed from coursed ironstone rubble, with only part of the thatch remaining and an exposed timber roof. A brick stack sits on a stone base at the right end of the building. The house has a two-unit plan, featuring a plank door to the left with a wooden framed surround and wooden lintel. There is a blocked two-light window on the left, and to the right, a stone-surrounded, inserted three-light casement window with a hood mould and label stops. The attic storey has two three-light casements. A small rectangular window with ironstone surrounds is located between the ground and attic floors. The right gable end includes one three-light and one two-light stone mullioned window, both with hood moulds and label stops. Inside, there is a stop-chamfered beam in the main room on the right, a fireplace with a bressumer in the end wall, wooden winder stairs leading to the attic, and plank doors.
