Description
Long Thatch is a house dating from the 17th century, located on The Green in Hook Norton. It is constructed of rubble ironstone with a thatched roof, and features 20th-century brick and a 20th-century stone stack. The building was likely originally two dwellings with a front elevation and a wing to the right, creating a three-unit plan. It has a single storey plus attic. The windows are 20th-century replacements and there’s a 20th-century rustic porch with stone walls and a thatched roof. One wing is built with bands of limestone and ironstone. Inside, the house has stop-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops and a bressumer to the fireplace. It is included on the list for its group value.
