Description
Walnut Tree Cottage is a house dating from the late 17th century, consisting of two sections. It is constructed from coursed ironstone rubble, featuring ironstone quoins at the left end and to the right of the door. The cottage has a 20th-century tiled roof and 20th-century brick stacks on the left gable and ridge. The left side is a single-unit, while the right side is a two-unit part attached to it. The building is a single storey plus an attic. The left side has 20th-century windows with 20th-century lintels, while the ground floor on the right has two 2-light windows with wooden lintels. There is a stone mullioned cellar window and a 3-light casement window on the attic floor, which includes some panes of crown glass and a wooden lintel. Inside, there is a stop-chamfered beam in the parlour and a bressumer above the fireplace.
