Description

Southrop Farmhouse, now a house, dates to 1645. It is constructed from regular coursed ironstone rubble with a 20th-century tile roof. The property has three brick stacks on stone bases, to the ends and ridge, and stone coping to the left gable. The farmhouse has a three-unit plan and a single storey with an attic. The front elevation features a three-window range. The central entrance has a hood mould with label stops, flanked by two 20th-century casements. A two-light stone mullioned window in the attic, also with a hood mould and label stops, is flanked by two further 2-light casements. Two roof dormers are also present. An oval stone medallion sits above the door. The property was built by a member of the Harwood family. The interior has not been inspected.
