Description

Easter Cottage is a house dating to 1805, as indicated by a datestone. It is constructed of coursed ironstone rubble with a stone slate roof laid to diminishing courses, and features ironstone quoins and two rendered brick end stacks. The house follows a two-unit plan, with two storeys plus an attic. The front has a three-window range, incorporating wooden casements with two and three lights, and stop-chamfered wooden lintels. There is a side entrance. The interior has not been inspected. According to Dickens’ History of Hook Norton (1928, p138), this is a local feature.
