Description
This barn dates to the 17th century and stands approximately 100 metres west of Chilling Place Farmhouse. The barn is timber-framed with weatherboarding above a limestone-rubble plinth, and has an old plain-tile roof. It has a 5-bay plan, featuring a central porch and opposed double doors to the rear. Inside, the walls display heavy framing with an intermediate rail. The roof structure comprises two rows of straight windbraces, clasped purlins, and double-queenpost trusses. One truss has been renewed, but the principals and top collar have been retained.
