Description
Gwith Cottage is a small house dating from the 17th century with 20th-century alterations. It is constructed from limestone rubble and features wooden lintels, topped with a thatch roof and brick gable stacks. The building has a three-unit plan that extends to the rear and consists of one storey plus an attic.
The front facade has three windows, including a central plank door, a three-light casement to the left, and a two-light casement to the right. Above, the first floor has an old dormer with three, two, and three lights, all of which have leaded glazing. The rear of the cottage includes additional leaded casements and a small dormer. A 20th-century wing extends from the left side, built with similar materials.
Inside, there is a large open fireplace that includes a bread oven, along with renewed flanking winder stairs.
