Description
This is a terrace of six houses located on the north side of West Bar Street, Banbury, dating from the early 19th century, with later alterations. The houses are faced with stucco or roughcast over brickwork, and have slate roofs with brick ridge and end stacks. The plan is slightly concave. Each house has two storeys plus attics, and a six-window range overall. There are six entrances, along with a vehicular entrance leading to the rear of number 52. Most of the front doors are panelled, with two having overlights. The ground floor windows are mostly sashes or 20th-century replacements, and the window arrangements are similar on the first floor and in the attics. Almost all window openings have cambered heads. Flat bands accentuate the first and attic floors. To the left of the terrace is an attached wall which incorporates a doorway with a panelled door and overlight, featuring a geometrical pattern. The interiors have not been inspected.
