Description

A terrace of six houses, built around 1840 in Cheltenham. The houses are constructed with stucco over brickwork, topped with a slate roof. The roof is hipped on the left side and gabled on the right, with brick chimney stacks between the houses.

The terrace is two storeys high and has thirteen windows on the first floor (three on the left, and two on each of the others). A band runs along the first floor level. The first-floor windows are mostly original 6/6 sashes, though the first, eighth, and eleventh windows are blind, and all are set in plain reveals with sills. The ground-floor windows are mostly original 8/8 sashes. The entrances are predominantly modern, featuring 20th-century doors and overlights, although some retain original glazing bars. Number 30 has a porch with Doric columns and an entablature. A two-window blind return is visible on the left side. The right gable end has a coping. A low parapet and cornice run along the top.

The interiors are noted for retaining original joinery and plasterwork. The terrace is part of a significant street of mostly 1830s and 1840s terraced houses and contributes to group value.
