Description

Two early 19th-century houses stand together on Crouch Street. The buildings are constructed of brick with a stucco-fronted facade, topped by slate roofs and brick ridge and end stacks. They are designed as part of a terrace. The three-storey elevation has a five-window arrangement. Number 1 has a central front door recessed within a Tuscan doorcase, featuring a panelled door and overlight. Flanking the doorway on the ground floor are sash windows with glazing bars, each with stepped, keystoned voussoirs. The first and second floors of Number 1 mirror this design with three similar windows. Number 2 has a front door to its left, similarly detailed with a Tuscan doorcase, panelled door, and overlight. A sash window to the right of the entrance also has glazing bars and stepped, keystoned voussoirs. The first and second floors of Number 2 feature two matching windows. All windows are three panes wide and have stone sills. A wide eaves soffit completes the exterior. The interiors have not been inspected.
