Description
12 and 13 East Street are two houses that are part of a terrace of three, built around 1830. They are stuccoed and likely constructed from stone, with a slate roof and brick chimney stacks. The buildings are three storeys high and have a one-to-two window front.
Number 12 features a recessed four-panel front door, with the bottom panels flush and the top panels glazed, located to the right. The elevation above the front door is blind. There is one ground floor and one first floor window, both 16-pane sashes, and a second floor window that is a 4/8-pane sash.
Number 13 is identical to Number 12 but has an additional bay at the right end, which includes a cartway on the ground floor, a 16-pane sash above it, and a 4/8-pane sash on the second floor. The four-panel front door on this house is also complete.
The interiors have not been inspected but may still contain original features. These houses represent a pair of late Georgian structures in a predominantly Georgian street.
