Description
No. 3 Mill Street is a small house located in Crediton, dating from the early 18th century or possibly earlier. It is constructed of plastered cob and features a thatched roof with gabled ends. The house has a left end stack with a brick chimney.
The exterior consists of two storeys and has an asymmetrical front with one window. To the left, there is a likely early 20th-century plank door with a cover strip, and to the right, there is a more recent door. The ground floor has a three-light casement window with two panes per light, while the first floor has a three-light casement window with six panes per light.
The interior has not been inspected but may contain interesting features, including early roof timbers. This house is an unusual example of thatch surviving in the middle of the town.
