Description

Number 3 and Jasmine Cottage is a row of four cottages that have been combined into two dwellings, likely built in the mid-18th century. The cottages are constructed from coursed squared marlstone and feature mostly wooden lintels, with a roof made of Stonesfield slate and brick stacks. The buildings are arranged in three sections and are two storeys tall.

Number 3, located on the right, has two matching renewed two-light casement windows on the first floor. The ground floor features a larger window to the right and two windows to the left, both with rubble flat arches, one of which has replaced a former doorway. The original doorway is positioned at the extreme right.

Jasmine Cottage, on the left, was built slightly later as a matching pair of cottages with adjoining doors. It has three-light casements on the ground floor and pairs of two-light casements on the first floor. Only the old door remains in the left half, while the right half retains all its original casements, which are leaded on the first floor, although the doorway has been converted into a window. The roof has a moderate pitch and extends continuously over the range, featuring three stacks. The interior has not been inspected. The cottages are included for their group value.
