Description
No.5, New Street is an early 18th-century house situated on the west side of New Street in Deddington. The building is constructed of coursed squared marlstone with a concrete plain-tile roof and brick gable stacks. It follows a two-unit plan and is two storeys in height. The front elevation has a symmetrical three-window arrangement, aligned slightly to the left of centre. A central doorway is positioned below a two-light casement window, with three-light casements in the outer bays. These casements are from the 19th or early 20th century, and all the window and door openings are set within rubble flat arches. The roof is steeply pitched. The interior was not inspected, but it likely features a substantial chimney breast to the right.
