Description
This building, known as Nos. 41 and 42 (R.S. Malcolm), No. 43 (Banbury Cross Tobacconist), and No. 44 (Marshall's), is a group of four shops and offices located on the north side of Banbury High Street. It dates from the early 19th century and is constructed as a single unit. The building is made of brick with a slate roof and features brick end and ridge stacks. It stands three storeys high and has a four-window range with four entrances. The shop fronts were updated in the 20th century. The first floor has four sash windows with keystoned voussoirs and four-pane glazing bars, while the second floor has four similar windows without keystones. All windows are set on stone sills. The building is topped with a dentilled brick eaves cornice and has three skylights. The interior has not been inspected.
