Description
Nos. 79, 81, and 83 Mill Street is a row of three shops that were originally built with accommodation above in the early 19th century. The building is constructed of brick and features a stone-flagged roof. It stands three stories high and has a seven-window range. The ground floor has inserted shop fronts, while the upper floors display 12-pane sash windows, some of which have been renewed, alternating with blind windows. Each window is topped with a stone painted voussoir head. The building also has a moulded stone string course and a parapet. There are end wall and axial stacks, and the gable return facing Roe Street includes a wide 36-pane window in the center of the attic storey and a blind painted window on the first floor. Additionally, there is a lower wing at the rear.
