96, Mill Street

96 Mill Street is a former dwelling that has been converted into a shop. The original building likely dates back to the late 16th century but was refronted in the early 20th century. It features a timber-framed structure with a mock-timber facade and a Welsh slate roof. The building is low with two storeys and has a wide three-window range. The facade displays ornate mock timbering in small panels. There are inserted shop windows on either side of a central doorway, accompanied by smaller two-light flanking windows. The upper windows consist of latticed two-light casements, with the outer windows positioned beneath dormer gables. Inside, much of the original timber-framed structure is still visible, although the tie beams of the principal trusses appear to have been cut through, likely due to alterations made to the roof structure during the early 20th-century remodelling.
