Description
This building consists of a pair of shops located at 49, 50, and 50A Mardol in Shrewsbury, dating from around 1800 and constructed in two phases. The structure is made of brick and features plain tiled roofs behind a parapet. It stands four storeys high, with each shop displaying a three-window range.
The ground floor of No.49 is recessed and has a fascia supported by cast-iron columns. Above this, there are four-pane sash windows with flat-arched heads on each upper floor. The building is adorned with a moulded stone eaves cornice and has gable end stacks.
Nos.50 and 50A feature an early 19th-century bow shop window with small panes on the left side, accompanied by a separate doorway. The upper windows in these shops consist of two-pane sashes on the first floor and twelve-pane sashes on the second floor, all with flat-arched gauged brick heads. The eaves are plain at the parapet, and there are gable end stacks.
