Description
Bank Cottage is a house located on Mill Street in Islip, originally built in the late 17th century and later remodeled in the late 18th or early 19th century. The building is constructed from limestone rubble and features wooden lintels, topped with an asbestos-slate roof that has a rubble and brick ridge stack. It has a two-unit plan and stands two storeys high. The front facade has four windows, with a shallow rounded stair projection situated between three-light casements. The outer bays contain plank doors, both framed heavily and topped with canopies. The first-floor windows vary in size. A central stack rises in line with the stair projection, while the rear of the building has additional casements. The interior has not been inspected.
