Description

The Mallards and Rivermead are a farmhouse and former outbuilding, likely dating from the early 18th century, with an extension added in the late 19th century. The construction consists of coursed squared limestone rubble and yellow brick, covered by a Stonesfield-slate roof with stone stacks. The building is arranged around a central staircase and has been extended. The two-story main facade features a central six-panel door, tall two-light casement windows above and to the left, and older three-light casements with wooden lintels in the right bay. An 19th-century yellow brick extension is located to the extreme right. Flanking roof stacks are present. To the left is a range of outbuildings, now partially incorporated into the house, featuring a stable door, a four-light casement window, a loft door, and a hipped roof. The interior has not been inspected. The property is included on the list for its group value.
