Description

River View is a house dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century. It is constructed of limestone rubble with some ashlar dressings and features a concrete plain-tile roof with brick gable stacks. The building has an L-shaped plan and stands two storeys plus an attic. The front facade, which may have been remodelled in the mid to late 18th century, has two windows arranged asymmetrically. It features 4-pane sash windows set beneath flat arches with projecting keyblocks, with the left ground-floor window now serving as a French window. There is a doorway with a similar arch that has been blocked. The left gable wall has a chimney projection and includes small casements, one of which is a 3-light wood-mullioned window with intermediate bars. The right gable wall has additional casements and connects to a rear wing that has been raised to three storeys and retains leaded casements. The interior has not been inspected.
