Description

This is a small house located on Mill Street, Islip, dating from the late 17th or early 18th century. It is constructed of roughly dressed limestone rubble with wooden lintels, and has a thatched roof with a gable stack built of rubble and brick. The house follows a two-unit plan and is one storey high with an attic. The front has two windows on the ground floor, which are two-light casements, and three-light half-dormers in the attic. The left side of the front, incorporating a central plank door, projects slightly and may be a later addition; it is characterized by an ovolo-moulded lintel above the door. A stack is located to the left of the house. The interior has not been inspected.
