KIDLINGTON MILL END SP51SW (West side) 4/105 Barn and attached outbuildings approx. 15m W of Mill House

GV II

Barn and attached stable and cowhouse. Late C17 barn; stable to left has datestone J.S./1818; cowhouse to right has datestone J.S./1836. Coursed limestone rubble; gabled stone slate roofs, and Welsh slate roof to right. Four-bay barn has double doors to right of centre. Cowhouse has timber lintels over 2 small lights flanking central doorway with jamb-posts pegged and tenoned into lintel. Stable has plank doors to loft and below, flanked by timber lintels over one-light windows. Doveholes in left gable wall. Interior: barn has 4-bay collar-truss roof with butt purlins and oak plank threshing floor. Included for group value.
