Description
This building is a barn and stables located approximately 10 meters northwest of Manor Farmhouse, dating from the early 18th century, with the stables likely being built slightly later. It is constructed from limestone rubble, featuring squared ashlar quoins and some limestone-ashlar dressings, topped with Welsh-slate and Stonesfield-slate roofs. The structure includes a six-bay barn and a three-bay stable. The barn has full-height opposed doors positioned to the left of center and slit ventilation openings. The two bays to the left of the doors have segmental-arched cart entrances at the rear, which are likely a later addition and are adorned with ashlar dressings. The stable, which is lower than the barn, has a stable door flanked by two small openings and a loft door on the extreme left, along with a gabled projection at the rear. The rear slope of the barn roof is covered with stone slates. Inside, the barn features a roof supported by queen-strut trusses and two rows of butt purlins. The cart-shed bays are divided by an inserted stone wall that includes a loft door.
