Description
Yew Tree Cottage is a house dating from the late 18th century. It is built of marlstone rubble with wooden lintels and ashlar quoins, topped with a Welsh-slate roof and brick stacks. The cottage features a three-unit lobby-entry plan with service ranges and stands two storeys tall. The front has three windows and a plank door located in a 19th-century ashlar porch, positioned to the left of centre. To the right of the door are two-light casements, while to the left is a three-light window, all featuring leaded glazing. The roof includes a stack aligned with the doorway and a gable stack to the left. The house has been extended by two bays to the left, incorporating converted outbuildings, and one bay to the right, which is a lower dairy range. Inside, there is an open fireplace with a bread oven. The cottage is included for its group value.
