Description

Flighthill Farmhouse is a late 18th-century farmhouse located in Sandford St. Martin. It is constructed of coursed squared marlstone with an artificial stone-slate roof. The building has rendered and brick gable stacks. The plan is a central-stair configuration. The symmetrical three-window front has a central six-panel door and three-light casement windows to each floor, all with flat arches above. The roof has gable parapets. There are two lower rear wings, one featuring a 12-pane sash window, which are now linked by a 20th-century infill section. The interior has not been inspected. According to the Victoria County History of Oxfordshire, Volume XI, page 169, this is a notable local building.
