Description
The garden wall and entrance gates located to the northwest of Nether Worton House were likely built in the 18th century and early 20th century. The structure is made of coursed squared marlstone with some ashlar dressings, topped with Stonesfield-slate and plain-tile copings. The 20th-century wall forms the north side of the forecourt to Nether Worton House and runs between square piers that feature ball finials. In the center, the wall steps up over a moulded 4-centred archway, which has a hood mould and contains traceried oak double gates. An older section of the wall extends approximately 200 meters to the west, has a tiled coping, and is mostly about 3 meters high.
