Description

Manor Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse that was altered in the 19th century. It is constructed of coursed squared marlstone with limestone ashlar dressings, and has a Welsh-slate roof with marlstone ashlar and brick stacks. The farmhouse has a 3-unit, double-depth plan. It is two storeys high plus an attic, with a three-window front. A large gabled 19th-century porch to the right of centre contains a 6-panel door. Large stone mullioned windows, of 5 lights at ground floor and 4 lights above, are linked by horizontal drip moulds which return around the end walls. There is a moulded plinth, partly rebuilt in brick, that also returns. Further mullioned windows are located at both ends and at the rear. The shallow-pitched roof, likely replacing a double-span roof, has three large hipped dormers and end and internal stacks with brick shafts. A 19th-century hipped-roofed wing returns to the left and features segmental-arched casements. The interior was not inspected.
