Description
Rectory Cottage and the attached barn are likely from the early 18th century, with some conversion work done in the late 18th or early 19th century. The building is constructed from coursed squared marlstone and features roofs made of corrugated asbestos and concrete plain tiles, along with brick stacks. Originally a six-bay barn, it has full-height doorways on the left of the center. The right side has three bays that have been raised at the eaves and converted into a two-storey cottage. The front of the cottage has a central doorway within a 20th-century glazed porch, flanked by casement windows, one of which has been enlarged. The first-floor windows consist of three, two, and two lights, some of which have old leaded casements. The stacks are positioned on either side of the house. Inside, the barn features trenched purlins on crossed-principal trusses that once supported a ridge purlin. The interior of the house has not been inspected. This building is included for its group value.
