Description
Hazel Cottage is a house that likely dates from the 17th century, with alterations and enlargements made in the 18th century and a further extension in the 20th century. It is constructed from limestone rubble with wooden lintels and features a thatched roof with a rubble and brick gable stack. The original layout may have been a two-unit plan that was extended to four units, with an additional wing added later. The cottage is one storey plus an attic, with some parts raised to two storeys. The two bays on the left side of the front are taller and have been raised only at the front; the left bay features large three-light casements on both floors, while the right bay has a two-light casement on the first floor. A 20th-century extension, made of rubble and slate, connects the front sections. The two bays to the right of this link have additional casements. A double stack on the left gable has a rubble base with a projecting weathering. The interior has not been inspected.
