Description
Cromwell House and Market Place Cottage is a house and cottage dating from the early 18th century. The building is constructed of coursed squared marlstone with wooden lintels and features Welsh-slate roofs with a brick ridge stack. It has a three-unit plan for Cromwell House and a single-unit plan for Market Place Cottage, which were probably once linked. The structure stands two storeys high and has a three-window front for Cromwell House. The first floor features leaded two-light casements, while the ground floor has similar windows with two and three lights in bays two and three. Bay one contains a large built-up opening that now holds a tall eight-pane sash window, and the entrance is located between bays one and two. The roof has a moderate pitch, with the stack positioned just to the left of the doorway. The roof extends above the entrance to Market Place Cottage and then drops to a lower section, which has a two-light casement window on each floor. The interiors have not been inspected.
