Description

SP4631 DEDDINGTON MARKET PLACE (South side) 8/190 Cromwell House and Market Place Cottage GV II House and cottage. Early C18. Coursed squared marlstone with wooden lintels; Welsh-slate roofs with brick ridge stack. 3-unit and single-unit plans, probably formerly linked. 2 storeys. 3-window front of Cromwell House has leaded 2-light casements at first floor, and at ground floor bays 2 and 3 have similar windows of 2 and 3 lights; bay one has a built-up large opening which now contains a tall 8-pane sash, and the entrance is set between bays one and 2. Roof, of moderate pitch, has the stack set just to left of the line of the doorway. Roof extends above the entrance to Market Place Cottage, then drops to a lower section which has a 2-light casement at each floor. Interiors not inspected.
