Description

HAWKHURST WATER LANE TQ 73 SE (west side) 10/474 Furnace Mill Farmhouse II House. Late C18 extended early C19 and late C20. Red and blue chequered brick on ground floor, weather boarded above, with plain tiled roof. Two parallel ranges. Two storeys on plinth with paired modillion eaves cornice to roof with stacks to left and projecting at end right and to rear. Originally regular fenestration of 2 tripartite glazing bar sashes on each floor with central single glazing bar sash on 1st floor, and door of 6 panels in moulded projecting surround with flat cornice hood. Extended 1 bay to left with glazing bar sash on 1st floor and French doors on ground floor. Late C20 wing recessed to right with tripartite glazing bar sash on 1st floor and plate glass ground floor.
