Description
Mill Cottage is a house dating from the early 18th century, which has been altered and extended in the early 19th century and late 19th century. The ground floor is painted brick, while the first floor is tile hung, featuring red and blue chequered brick on the return and rear elevations, along with a tile hung rear wing. The roofs are plain tiled and slate. The building has a lobby entry plan and stands two storeys high, with a stack located to the centre left.
On each floor, there are three wooden casements with three lights, the upper right window featuring moulded mullions. A boarded door is situated to the centre left, topped with a gable-shaped hood. The left return wall is angled to the front facade and includes a blocked round-headed doorway, which now has a window, along with a glazing bar sash. There is a two-storey hipped extension beyond this, featuring glazing bar sashes on each floor and a casement to the right on the first floor. The rear wing has a late 19th-century tile hung jettied first floor, along with glazing bar sashes and casements, with both rear wings having stacks.
