Description
This is a mill building, now used as premises for F. Hawkins & Sons Ltd., dating from the late 19th century. It features a timber frame and is weatherboarded, with a red brick base and a corrugated iron roof. The building has three storeys. On the roadside, there is a wooden casement window on the second floor, two loft doors on the first floor (which show the outline of a removed gabled extension), and a later outshot on the ground floor. The right side has two seven-light casement windows on the second floor, three large multi-pane windows on the first floor (the central one is in a sliding door), and three multi-pane windows on the ground floor (the right one is also in a sliding door). The left side has three multi-pane windows on each floor. This building was formerly a joinery works and was likely built as a saw mill. It is included for its group value.
