Description
The Stock House, located to the north of the stables at Tongswood Farm, is a late 19th-century building that was part of a model farm established for William Gunther, who specialized in raising prime bulls for export to Argentina. This structure appears to consist of individual pens for bulls, with a covered yard at the back. It is constructed of brick and features a tiled roof along with wooden louvres. The yard is timber-framed and the building is one storey high. The front has sliding sash windows and Dutch doors. The yard is enclosed by a brick wall on one side, while the open sides are framed with timber, supported by a kingpost roof and diagonal braces in the wall frame. This building is included as part of a notable group of model farm structures.
