Description

Stable range and cottages south of the main stable block at Tongswood Farm date from the late 19th century. The stable range is timber framed and weather boarded, while the cottages are built from red and blue brick, topped with a plain tiled roof. The stable range forms the south side of the stable court and consists of three single-storey blocks featuring gabled louvres and paired half doors with mullioned sidelights on the east blocks. There is a gabled projecting wing to the left that connects to the rear of the cottages. The cottage range is two storeys high with a half hipped roof and three irregularly projecting central gables, with stacks arranged from left to right. In total, there are nine window bays with wooden casements that vary in size and spacing, most of which are segmentally headed. The doors to the left, centre, and right are panelled and half-glazed, each with gabled hoods supported by brackets. This building is part of the model farm complex at Tongswood Home Farm.
