Description
Charlton Farmhouse is a house that dates back to the 17th century or earlier, with alterations made in the 18th century and an extension added in the late 20th century. The building features a timber frame and is tile hung, with a sandstone block base on the return elevation. It has a plain tile roof. The main elevation, which faces the garden, is two storeys high and sits on a brick base. It has a hipped roof with chimney stacks located to the centre left and projecting from the end right, showcasing 17th-century stretcher band brickwork. There are three glazing bar sash windows in box surrounds on each floor, along with a glazed door located to the centre right. The right return wing includes more glazing bar sashes and wooden casements, while the ground floor of the stone hipped rear wings features a late 20th-century addition at the western end.
