Description
Tilden is a house dating from the 16th century. It features a timber frame that is tile hung, with part of the small panel frame exposed on the right return. The base is made of English bond brick, topped with a plain tiled roof. The building has a lobby entry plan with a cross-wing. It stands two storeys high with a garret on a brick base, and has a half-hipped roof with a projecting half-hipped cross wing to the left. There is a stack located to the centre left.
The cross-wing has a two-light garret window and three-light mullioned and transomed windows on each floor. The first floor of the main range includes two, four, and two-light leaded mullioned wooden casements, while the ground floor features two and four-light windows. There are French doors on the end right and a rib and stud door to the centre left. The right return has a four-light mullioned garret window and one wooden casement on each floor, along with a rib and stud door to the right. At the rear, there is a catslide outshut with a stack positioned to the rear right.
