Description

Attwaters is a house dating from the 16th century, with later cladding from the 18th century. It features a timber frame that is fronted with red and blue chequered brick, and has tile-hung return elevations along with a plain tiled roof. The building has a lobby entry plan consisting of five bays and stands two storeys tall, with a plinth, a discontinuous plat band, and a massive sloping buttress on the right side. The roof has stacks positioned at the front right, projecting and offset to the end left, and clustered and moulded at the centre left.

On the first floor, there are five wooden and metal casement windows, while the ground floor has four casement windows with segmental heads. A boarded door is located to the centre left, set within a rendered hipped porch that has lancet side lights, with the wall above projecting slightly. At the rear left, there is a two-storey gabled wing. Additionally, projecting from the left return is a length of brick wall, approximately 7 feet high and about 20 yards long, which is terminated by a capped pier and features a segmental doorway at the centre.
