Description
The Old Kennels is a house dating from the 16th to 17th century, with remodelling in the 18th century and later alterations. It features a timber-framed structure that is rendered, with part of it underbuilt in painted brick, including the right return wall. The roof is covered in plain tiles, and there are red brick stacks. The building is two storeys high and has an H-plan layout, with a two-window-bay centre and projecting cross wings. The main entrance is located on the right return side.
On the ground floor, there are 20th-century 5-light mullion and transom windows, along with 12-pane flush sash windows that have sills above. The eaves cornice and ridge stacks are also present. The wings feature 16-pane sashes on the ground floor, with the right wing having a 20th-century replacement window. The first floor of the left wing has two 12-pane flush sashes with sills, while the right wing is wider and has one 12-pane sash at a lower level. Both wings have hipped roofs. Additionally, there are casement windows and a glazed door on the right return side.
At the rear, there are additions including a two-storey bow to the rear of the left cross wing, a stair tower, and an extension under a catslide roof. The interior has not been inspected.
