Description

Kennel Cottage Post Office is a building that dates back to the 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. It features a timber-framed structure that is rendered, topped with a plain tile roof and a red brick stack. The building has a T-plan layout and stands two storeys high. The Post Office occupies the left side, presenting a gable end to the street, and has a central lobby-entry plan. The entrance door is set in a plain doorcase, and there are 20th-century bow windows on the ground floor, with 8 and 16-pane sash windows above. To the right is Kennel Cottage, which has a 6-panel door at the end and 4-pane sash windows, along with a ridge stack. Inside the Post Office, there is an ovolo-chamfered beam with run-out stops.
