Description

This building is a cottage located opposite the garden of The Orchard in Stratford St Mary. It dates from the 16th century, with alterations made in the early 19th century. The structure is timber-framed, with the front underbuilt in painted brick. It features a plain tile roof and a red brick stack. The cottage has two storeys and was probably originally jettied at the front.

The facade includes two four-panel doors set in architraves, flanked by casement windows. Above the middle rail, there is close studding with arched down braces. There is one blocked two-light window, and otherwise, there are two casements. The roof is swept, and there is an off-centre ridge stack. The tie beam and studded gable are exposed on the right side. The interior has not been inspected.
