GOUDHURST MARDEN ROAD TQ 73 NW (east side) 5/218 Milestone at 723 396 on the B2079 GV II Milestone. C18 altered mid C19. Painted stone with mid C19 iron plate. Pyramidal headed stone about 2 feet high, with segmentally headed plate inscribed: Maidstone 11¾ Marden 4 The Goudhurst, Gore and Stilebridge Turnpike Trust was set up by an Act of 1765.
