Description
Crest Cottage and Dove Cottage are a pair of cottages dating from the early 19th century. They feature part timber framing with a painted brick ground floor and tile-hung first floor. The cottages have slate roofs, with a taller hipped wing located behind the center of the ridge. There are brick stacks positioned to the left, off center to the right, and on the rear wing. The buildings are two storeys high, with an irregular arrangement of four windows on the first floor and three windows on the ground floor. The first floor has glazing bar sashes with open boxes, while the ground floor has glazing bar sashes as well. The entrance to Crest Cottage is located to the left of center and features a panelled door with an inset fanlight. The entrance to Dove Cottage is at the extreme right, also with a panelled door. At the rear, there is a wing with a very steep hipped roof and a large gablet to the east, which may date back to the 15th or 16th century.
